During one of their passage of the Ocean, traveling to the North, Nour and her friend the Merchant encountered the perfect storm on their journey. Tall waves were swinging the boat back and forth, water was entering their chambers and people were screaming all around them. At once, the two friends were thrown into the water by the strength of the storm and started being drifted around by the currents and the winds.
When they could no longer keep floating on the surface of that chaotic mess the two friends began to drawn and lost their senses.
They woke up alive on the shore, by the home of an old fisherman. The man told them a beautiful lady with the tale of a fish had rescued them from the cruel faith they faced in the water. Nour and the Merchant never saw the mermaid again, nor remembered her face, but every year since that day they dropped a piece of gold as a sign of gratitude in the stormy ocean. And each time, from the foam of the waves, they heard the sound of a woman’s voice singing in the wind.
